Join other families of preschool-age children for a sensory learning experience about the Jewish festival of Shavuot. Explore the giving of the Torah and the harvest traditions associated with this holiday through sound, sight, taste, and touch, as well as accessible texts and hands-on fun. Geared toward children ages 2-5 and their parents, but all are welcome.
Please register only one adult per family. If you have any questions, please contact Miriam Szubin at mszubin@edcjcc.org.
About the facilitator: Deborah Barer is Associate Professor of Ancient Judaism at Towson University and a faculty fellow with the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies (North America). As a mother of two small children (ages 2 and 4), Deborah is passionate about finding ways to connect our littlest ones to Jewish texts and traditions. In addition to her academic work, she is the founder of Torah at the Table, a website focused on helping parents engage their young children with the weekly Torah portion through themed recipes and activities.
