Parent Programs

The Edlavitch DCJCC provides parents, parents-to-be, and folks who want to be parents with the support, guidance, and community needed to raise young children in the city.

Overview

The EDCJCC provides parents, parents-to-be, and folks who wants to be parents with the support, guidance, and community needed to raise young children in the city. LGBTQ and straight, couples and solo parents, Jewish and non-Jewish, people of all ethnicities, races and abilities, anyone building a family through biology, adoption, surrogacy, or any other pathway – all are warmly welcomed!

Before Baby

Check out our programs and workshops that help parents-to-be of all kinds get ready for parenthood, including our six week in person Beyond the Bump group for first time moms, our in-person Nested Childbirth Education classes to get biological parents ready for labor and delivery, and our Nested Newborn Care and CPR classes perfect for anyone building a family through biology, adoption, or surrogacy, as well as foster parents, friends, caregivers, nannies, and grandparents.

New Parent Events

We offer a five-week Transition to Motherhood Support Group, a monthly New Parent Coffee series featuring a relaxed discussion on topics of interest to very new parents of all kinds, and occasional other meet-ups and events for parents. Babies warmly welcomed!

Parent Workshops

Join us virtually or in person for workshops on topics of interest to parents of young children. Our workshops offer practical skills and solutions, advice, and community-building opportunities. Email Miriam if you have an idea for a workshop that you would like to offer or to see offered.

Family Building

We help people on the path to parenthood find information, connections, and community in what is often an isolating and overwhelming process. Check out our overview of resources here and email Miriam if you would like to be connected to others who have gone through or are currently dealing with similar experiences, whether fertility issues, pregnancy or infant loss, the adoption process, or anything else. All emails will be kept strictly confidential.
