Celebrate Sigd: A Conversation on Black Israeli Culture and Art

Join Hava Tizazu, a Black Israeli artist, to celebrate the Ethiopian-Jewish holiday Sigd! Hava will screen her short film, discuss her story and creative process, and lead a meaningful conversation about the vibrant world of Ethiopian-Israeli creativity.

Celebrate Sigd, a holiday from the Ethiopian Jewish community, with a conversation about the vibrant Ethiopian culture and art in Israel. Writer, director, and producer Hava Tizazu will share her personal story as a Black Israeli artist, discuss her works in Israeli theater, and explore her creative process. The evening will begin with a screening of her short film, "Sin On Sin," followed by a meaningful conversation about the vibrant and dynamic world of Ethiopian-Israeli creativity.

Hava Tizazu is a writer, director, and producer dedicated to bringing the voices and experiences of the Ethiopian Jewish community to life on stage. As a storyteller her mission is to expand the Israeli and Jewish story. As an artist, she strongly believes in the power of culture and art as tools for social change.
