Sign up to join the Edlavitch DCJCC’s Refugee Resettlement Team, a group of volunteers interested in opportunities to help refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers.

The Edlavitch DCJCC’s Refugee Resettlement Team (RRT) is a group of volunteers interested in opportunities to help refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. The primary work of the RRT is fully stocking and setting up apartments for arriving refugee families about 3 times a year. Other volunteer activities that come up include creating toiletry kits, and packing groceries for new arrivals.

Please note that this sign up is to register your interest in the RRT and be invited to a mandatory one-hour Zoom orientation. Once you have completed this orientation, you will be ready to participate in the next activity that fits your schedule.

The opportunity to set up a refugee apartment happens about 3 times a year on Sunday mornings and is only open to members of the RRT. Other activities come up on a bi-monthly basis and you can participate as much or as little as your schedule allows. We welcome children ages 10+ at apartment set-ups, but all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Other types of volunteer activities are open to children of all ages.
