Join us to make Literacy Kits for Jumpstart and get to know other teens. This service-learning program is eligible for SSL hours.
Join the EDCJCC for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Sara & Samuel J. Lessans Good Deeds Week – a global mitzvah week started in Israel in 2007 and now celebrated in 108 countries! Good Deeds Day is an opportunity to participate in volunteer projects and advocacy to help folks around the DC area who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other challenges.
This year, we will have a separate project for teens ages 12-18. Join us to make Literacy Kits for Jumpstart and get to know other teens. This service-learning program is eligible for SSL hours. Pre-registration is required for this program, and we expect it to fill up quickly! We request a $16 per person registration fee to help offset the cost of supplies for this project. If this is in any way prohibitive to your participation, please email Mira at msmith@edcjcc.org.
In honor of Good Deeds Day, help us collect baby body wash for our longtime partner, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA). LSSNCA provides newly arrived refugee families with essential supplies and they are running very low on baby body wash. Drop off baby wash at the EDCJCC on Sunday, May 5, or order through our Amazon Wishlist!
