Date : Sunday, Apr 14
Join us for a morning of volunteering with our close partner organization, DC Central Kitchen, followed by brunch at a nearby restaurant.
Join the EDCJCC for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Sara & Samuel J. Lessans Good Deeds Week – a global mitzvah week started in Israel in 2007 and now celebrated in 108 countries! Good Deeds Day is an opportunity to participate in volunteer projects and advocacy to help folks around the DC area who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other challenges.
This project is geared towards members of EntryPointDC, a JCC program for Jewish young adults in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s. Join us for a morning of volunteering with our close partner organization, DC Central Kitchen. Volunteers will work in the professional kitchen to chop vegetables, sort fresh produce, mix salads, portion meals, and more. Afterwards, we will head to a nearby restaurant for an informal brunch!
We will meet at the new DC Central Kitchen located in southwest DC. The address will be provided with registration. There is limited space for this program and registration is required for participation. If you have any questions, please email Mira at msmith@edcjcc.org.
In honor of Good Deeds Day, help us collect baby body wash for our longtime partner, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA). LSSNCA provides newly arrived refugee families with essential supplies and they are running very low on baby body wash. Drop off baby wash at the EDCJCC on Sunday, April 14, or order through our Amazon Wishlist!
