EDCJCC Impacted Worker Support

By Edlavitch DCJCC March 27, 2025

The Edlavitch DCJCC remains committed to supporting our community members who have been impacted by changes to the federal workforce and government contracts. Please see below for upcoming events, ongoing support programs, and additional resources.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Adam Cooper, Program Director of Capital J, at acooper@edcjcc.org.

Ongoing Events

Weekly FreeWork Wednesdays

Wednesday mornings, 9:00–11:00 AM
Salzburg Library, Edlavitch DCJCC: 1529 16th Street NW, Washington DC, 20036

Aimed at supporting individuals impacted by federal workforce reductions and government contracting changes, this is our take on WeWork – but at no cost and with free coffee! Come gather with others in community to network, share information/resources, and plan next steps.

Note that on April 16, we will meet at nearby Three Fifty Bakery instead of the Edlavitch DCJCC.

On April 23, we will be joined by Beacon Hill for a career workshop focused on resume review, LinkedIn best practices training, and how to highlight transferrable skills.

Free to attend, but space is limited and registration is required.

Free Workout Classes

In times of uncertainty, taking care of ourselves is of the utmost importance. We recognize the incredible benefits of exercise to help manage stress, and have financial assistance programs in place to support you.

If you are not a member, we invite you to sign up for a free 3-day trial of our Fitness Center (with full access to all classes). If you are interested in a new membership, we are offering financial support up to 50% for all impacted workers. Please reach out to our membership team if you are a current member and experiencing financial hardship.

Members Supporting Members

We have created a membership fund to help support our members experiencing financial hardship due to changes in the federal workforce.

We understand that these unexpected disruptions can place significant strain on individuals and families. That’s why we’re calling on our community to come together and help. Your contribution—no matter the size—can make a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow EDCJCC members. If you’re in a position to give, please consider donating to the fund.
