As we mark our Centennial, we are reminded that Jewish life is sustained l’dor v’dor: from generation to generation. For nearly 100 years, the EDCJCC has been shaped and sustained by a shared commitment to community, learning, culture, and connection in the heart of Washington, DC.
Including the Edlavitch DCJCC in your estate plans is a meaningful way to carry those values forward.
Make a Lasting Impact with a Legacy Gift
A legacy gift (also known as a planned gift) is a future commitment that supports the Edlavitch DCJCC beyond your lifetime. It allows you to express your values, care for the community you love, and help ensure that Jewish life in Washington continues to flourish.
By including the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center in your estate plans, you help ensure that future generations will continue to find a welcoming home here—one that brings people together, nurtures Jewish life, and strengthens our community for years to come.
Planned giving offers flexible options that can reflect your personal circumstances and priorities, now and in the future. Many donors choose to make a legacy gift alongside their annual giving, creating a lasting impact while aligning philanthropy with long-term values.
We would be honored to be part of that conversation with you.

There are many ways to structure a legacy gift, allowing you to choose an option that reflects your goals and personal circumstances. Common options include:
Bequests
Include the EDCJCC in your will or trust by designating a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate.
Retirement Plan Assets
Name the EDCJCC as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan. This is often one of the most tax-efficient ways to make a legacy gift.
Other Planned Gifts
We also welcome charitable trusts, life insurance, and other planned giving vehicles.
We are happy to work with you to ensure your gift reflects your intentions and supports the future of our JCC.
If you have already named the Edlavitch DCJCC in your estate plans or are considering doing so, we invite you to let us know. Notifying us allows us to recognize and celebrate your commitment through our Community Pillars planned giving program. If you prefer, your gift can remain anonymous.
To record an existing commitment, please contact Eve Lustig at elustig@edcjcc.org, or complete our legacy commitment form.
