Flow of the Day

Instead of a strict universal schedule for the school, the structure of a school day is flexible and guided by factors such as the children’s age, energy level and degree of engagement in a specific activity. Some mornings, children might spend the majority of their time on an exploration, whereas on other days their teachers might determine that they might need more gross motor play.

Keeping our schedule fluid allows for teachers and children to shape school experiences that best suit their needs.

A typical Preschool day looks like this…

7:45 AM – 8:45 AM Early Room Drop-Off (we ask that all children be here by 9:15)
8:45 AM – 12:15 AMMorning Activities
Each morning contains the following elements, but the duration and order varies:

Intentional Play
Morning Meeting
Morning Snacktime
Exploration Work
Gross Motor Play at Stead Park or in one of our indoor play spaces
Weekly Specials: Art, Music, Yoga, and our Friday Shabbat Celebration
12:15 PM – 1:00 PMLunch
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM Nap or Quiet Room and post-nap transitions
3:30 PM – 4:15 PMAfternoon Snack Time and Intentional Play
4:15  PM – 6:00 PM

Aftercare, including Gross Motor Play
Afternoon Enrichment Classes (e.g., swim lessons, pre-ballet, karate, Spanish)
