Thank you for your interest in the Edlavitch DCJCC Preschool!
INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
The EDCJCC Preschool has successfully been open in person for the entirety of the 2020-21 school year,, under all applicable Covid-related guidelines and regulations from OSSE (our licensing office), the Mayor’s office, and the CDC, and we have no doubt that we will be in person 5 days a week for the 2021-2022 school year as well. At the moment, we have filled all the 2-year-old and 4-year-old spots for the 2021-22 school year, but we have limited availability in the 3-year-old class (for children born between October 2017 and October 2018) and it is possible that we might be able to open up another 2-year-old class later this spring. Please email Miriam at firstname.lastname@example.org to express interest in the 2021-22 school year and also use this link to get on the Waitlist (select the 2021 SEASON when prompted) :GET ON THE WAITLIST
We run on a school year system, from September through August, so children are admitted for the September following their second birthday (or just prior, in the case of September and October birthdays). In order to be considered for admission, children must be on our Waitlist (see below). There is no other admissions process; your Waitlist form serves as your application. When we begin the admissions process in early February, we send out offers to new families based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, whether an older sibling has been a student, date of waitlist sign-up, past participation in EDCJCC programs, and other considerations necessary to create balanced classrooms.
Once you are on the Waitlist, there is no need for further action until admission offers go out.
We welcome new families into our 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes, using the same admission process outlined above, if there is space once our current families have re-enrolled. Fill out the Waitlist application (see below) if you are interested in a spot for a 3-year-old or 4-year-old. Your child will be sorted by birth date into the correct applicant pool, but there is only one Waitlist.
We do occasionally have mid-year openings, as folks move away or have other unexpected situations arise. Please email Miriam to let us know if you are interested in a mid-year spot.
Please note that all of our admissions are done from our Waitlist; there is no separate admission list. There is a $50 Waitlist application fee.
IMPORTANT NOTE about the Waitlist Application: When filling out the application, please select the “2021 SEASON” to find the Preschool Waitlist Application (it will be listed under “Preschool Waitlists” in the list of options). Admission for ALL future years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 etc.) are done from the 2021 Waitlist; there will be no need to re-enroll once you are on the 2021 list.
Please fill out our online Waitlist application on the CampMinder site by clicking here (remember to select the 2021 SEASON): GET ON THE WAITLIST.
Preschool Group Tours
In order to protect the health of our children and families, we are not able to offer in-person tours this fall, but we’d be delighted to have you join a virtual tour of our school and live Q&A with our Admissions Director! Please contact Miriam Szubin, Director of Preschool Admissions and Director of the Parenting Center, at email@example.com to reserve a spot on a tour or for more information.
Upcoming Group Virtual Tours:
At the moment there are no scheduled group tours, but please email Miriam Szubin to discuss setting up a private tour or to ask any questions that you may have.
