Join us to accelerate your job search! We’ll learn how to find your true calling in life – the career that rewards you with a paycheck and a purpose – and the practical job search steps to turn that vision into employment reality.
Led by Wayan Vota of the Career Pivot and Kyle Dietrich of Grounded Idealist, this in-person workshop is for displaced federal workers, contractors, implementers, and others navigating complex professional transitions. This workshop will consist of a morning and afternoon session (learn more below!) with a one-hour break in between. We’ll gather for a happy hour nearby following the afternoon session.
Free to attend, but advance registration is required so we know how many people to expect. If you have any questions, please reach out to Adam Cooper, Program Director of Capital J, at acooper@edcjcc.org.
Session 1: Clarifying Your Purpose (2 hours)
In this session, Kyle Dietrich and the Grounded Idealist team will guide participants through a series of powerful and interactive activities focused on shifting individual mindsets and behaviors; clarifying goals, purpose, values, and growth areas; uncovering (and transforming) limiting beliefs and other internal obstacles to our success and joy; creating space to process, ground, and deepen individual and collective resilience; cultivating meaningful connections and communities of care
Session 2: Seven Steps to a New Career (2 hours)
In this session, Wayan Vota will present the Seven Steps to a New Career Framework. Participants will have a chance to learn the steps that lead to employment; practice how to ask for an informational interview and tell their personal story; review their resumes and cover letters, and how to adapt them for each job; see the recruiter view of the process and how to get past the ATS; know when and where to use ChatGPT and other Generative AI tools.
