Don’t miss this hands-on, family-friendly adventure at Calvert Cliffs. Families can explore the beach, hunt for fossils, and enjoy the park’s many amenities, including hiking trails, marshland, and a recycled tire playground. It’s a perfect summer outing for curious kids and adventurous adults!

Join geologist and JFamily Ambassador Stacey for a hands-on, family-friendly adventure at Calvert Cliffs! Discover the incredible history behind these massive formations, created over 10 million years ago when Southern Maryland was covered by a shallow sea. As the cliffs eroded, they began revealing fossils of prehistoric creatures like sharks, whales, rays, and even seabirds the size of small airplanes!

This special field trip includes time to explore the beach, hunt for fossils, and enjoy the park’s many amenities, including hiking trails, marshland, and a recycled tire playground. It’s a perfect summer outing for curious kids and adventurous adults!

Please plan to arrive between 10:00-10:15 AM. The park is about 2 hours from the Edlavitch DCJCC. Feel free to bring a picnic!

Space is limited. Registration closes on August 14th.
Fee: $10 per family (paid in advance)
Park Admission: Cash only at the gate — $5/vehicle for MD residents; $7/vehicle for out-of-state residents
