Accessibility

If you have any questions, please contact info@edcjcc.org.

q street entrance.

The EDCJCC welcomes and supports people with disabilities and their families and caregivers. It is important to us that our programs, equipment, and facilities are accessible. The EDCJCC will make every effort to ensure your accommodation is met and we will work with you to try to come up with the best solution should we not be able to provide the specific accommodation requested.

EDCJCC Parking Lot
The EDCJCC Parking Lot is located adjacent to our building with direct ramp access to our main entrance. Limited spaces available. Entrance on Q Street. Parking is reserved for EDCJCC members, patrons, and guests, only to be used while attending a program, event, or meeting. There is no overnight parking. If seen leaving the premises, cars will be booted and/or towed at owners expense. To reserve a handicapped parking space in the EDCJCC lot, please contact Tabitha Littlefield at tlittlefield@edcjcc.org.

Patron Drop-Off
Short term (15 minute) pick up and drop-off is available along Q Street, directly in front of our main entrance.

The Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater and Cafritz Hall are accessible at all levels via elevators and stairs. The ticket office is accessible on the main floor. Accessible water fountains are located throughout the building on all levels.

Restrooms
The EDCJCC respects and welcomes gender diversity. Please use the restroom which makes you most comfortable or most closely fits your gender identity or expression. An all-gender restroom is located on the Lower Level (LL). All restrooms are ADA accessible on all levels.

As a courtesy, the EDCJCC has a limited number of wheelchairs on loan to patrons who wish to use them throughout the building. Upon entering the building, patrons can pick up a complimentary wheelchair on a first-come, first-served basis at the front desk reception.

Both theater spaces within the EDCJCC – Cafritz Hall and the Goldman Theater – offer ADA accessible seating with companion seats. Please request ADA seating from our Ticket Office upon arrival or in advance by emailing boxoffice@edcjcc.org or call 202-777-3210.

Assistive Listening devices are available free-of-charge and offered on a first-come, first-served basis at all Theater J and JxJ performances. They are available at the Ticket Office on the ground floor.

Theater J: Open Captioning (OC) is offered during one performance of each Theater J production. If you would like to reserve seats that are set aside for optimal OC viewing, please contact the Ticket Office at 202-777-3210.

JxJ: When films have captions available, that information will be listed by the screening date/time on the event’s page. Please note that while major commercial titles usually provide captions, smaller independent and international productions frequently do not. Captions are created by the films’ producers, not JxJ.

Whenever possible, we will strive to make captioned screenings available (but as we often screen independent and international cinema, this is often not the case). If a film has open captions available but not on the evening of your choice, please reach out to boxoffice@jxjdc.org at least 72 hours in advance to request that they be added to another screening.

All foreign-language films are subtitled in English.

Large print programs are available for Theater J productions at the Ticket Office, located on the ground floor.
