For more information on Camp EDCJCC policies, please refer to the Parent Handbook.

Mask Requirement

Mask-wearing inside of the EDCJCC will also be required by all campers and staff at all times (as is currently required by the District of Columbia), except while eating or drinking in designated locations. The vaccination and mask policy will be updated based on CDC guidance, as well as guidance from local and state governmental health authorities. Updates or adjustments to this policy will be communicated on our website and in emails to our community. This policy will be implemented and enforced in full compliance with all applicable laws requiring reasonable accommodations of disabilities and religious beliefs.

Facilities, Location, and Transportation

Our Camp at the EDCJCC (rising PreK4, Kindergarten and 1st grade) enjoy the fun-filled facility of the EDCJCC, including an indoor pool, art and kitchen classrooms, and community hall, plus nearby playgrounds and parks. The EDCJCC is conveniently located four blocks east of the Dupont Circle Metro – Q Street exit. Our curbside drop-off and pick-up make it easy for commuting parents.

Staff and Safety

The safety and well-being of our campers are our top priorities. We maintain low camper-to-counselor ratios to ensure that our campers are well-supervised at all times. Staff members are certified in First Aid, and lead counselors are certified in CPR.

We will follow all state-mandated and CDC regulations pertaining to COVID in effect at the time of summer camp, including the size of groups, social distancing, and mask regulations. We will have all criteria in place to run a safe camp program.

For more information on our Covid Protocols please see our Parent Handbook.

Inclusion Policy

The EDCJCC embraces inclusion in all its programs and activities. We welcome and encourage the participation of all people, regardless of their background, sexual orientation, abilities, or religion, including interfaith couples and families.

Health & Wellness

Camp at the EDCJCC is dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of our campers, staff, and facility. Please do not send your child to camp with a fever or infection. Your child must be fever- and infection-free for 24 hours before returning to camp. If your child is sent to camp sick, they will not be permitted to stay and you will be called to pick them up. If your child should become ill at camp, they will be brought to the camp office, and the Camp Director will call you. Your child will rest in the camp office until they are picked up.
