Introducing the Theater Jr. Acting Conservatory! Join us each week to sing, dance, act, make new friends, and perform! Programs will take place at First Baptist Church of Washington DC (two blocks away from Theater J!)

Songs from Mary Poppins
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
September 2 – November 4, 2026
Wednesdays, 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down! Kindergartners through second graders are invited to step in time as they learn and perform two musical theater pieces from Mary Poppins. Program ends in a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious recital for families and friends at First Baptist Church.

Songs from Beauty and the Beast
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
September 2 – November 4, 2026
Wednesdays, 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM
Tale as old as time! 3rd through 5th graders work on developing strong characters as they learn two acting-based musical theater pieces from Beauty and the Beast. Program ends in a recital for families and friends at First Baptist Church.

Fall Show: The Alibis
6th – 12th Grade
September 3 – November 5, 2026
Thursdays, 4:15 PM – 6:15 PM at First Baptist Church of DC
Final Production: Sunday November 8, 2026 at 2 PM at Theater J
When eccentric billionaire J. Leslie Arlington is murdered, a clueless detective finds the suspects are all reluctant to admit their alibis… because they were all committing other ridiculous crimes at the time! Middle and high school fans of mystery and mayhem learn voice, movement, and acting techniques as they bring this stylized one-act whodunnit to life on the Theater J stage. This mystery will be performed minimalism-style through acting and movement.
