In this Oscar-nominated short, Samir, a Palestinian butcher working at an Israeli supermarket, is accused of tearing down Israeli hostage posters in the break room. Tensions mount as Samir sets out to prove his innocence and keep his desperately needed job, as characters navigate the fragility and raw emotions of Israel post October 7.

Screening followed by a conversation with Director Meyer Levinson-Blount and lead actor Omar Sameer.

Alex Lederman is Israel Policy Forum’s Senior Policy and Communications Associate, based in New York. In this role, Alex contributes to Israel Policy Forum’s policy research, writes analytical articles and explainers on policy developments, and briefs audiences across North America. Alex’s analysis has been featured in CNN, TIME Magazine, The Hill, The Forward, War on the Rocks, and other outlets. He previously served as an intern at the U.S. embassy in Muscat, Oman. He is a graduate of Yale University.
