Second Wind
Special Limited Screening in co-presentation with ReelAbilities Film Festival
Opening remarks to be given by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna.
From the battlefields of Ukraine to the roof of Africa, five heroes are rewriting the definition of impossible. Four amputee soldiers and a female sniper severely wounded in combat embark on an awe-inspiring expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Their journey is more than a physical feat; it’s a profound act of defiance and a powerful symbol of a nation’s struggle, of the hope emerging from the ashes of war, and a universal testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
Second Wind documents the raw inner transformations: overcoming pain, rethinking the trauma of war, and finding power in brotherhood. Ultimately, their ascent is a powerful call to action, inspiring a post-war generation to face their struggles head-on.
This is an advance presentation of working materials for the film. Screening proceeds go to the Edlavitch DCJCC, a registered nonprofit organization.
