Born into the Chinese community in Costa Rica, filmmaker Nicole Chi Amén was never able to communicate with her grandmother Guián, who couldn’t speak Spanish. After her death, Nicole heads to China to rediscover her roots.

This is an intimate film that follows the journey of a Costa Rican-Chinese granddaughter trying to connect with her deceased grandma by searching for the home she abandoned in China when she emigrated to Latin America.
