The Edlavitch DCJCC operates a daily program for individuals over 60 living in the District called the Behrend-Adas Senior Fellowship. This program offers a variety of robust programming including social activities, exercise, arts, field trips, and a hot kosher lunch.
With the program being closed, many of our senior adults living alone are interested in companionship and interaction. They’re excited to start a correspondence with you either by email or snail mail!
Sign up to receive a client who you will write to regularly (at least every other week). The senior will respond to you as often as they are able, but expect this to be a back and forth correspondence.
Content for letters or postcards can include: notes of encouragement; about you, your career, your background, and anything else you are comfortable sharing; a poem or a positive story you heard about, etc. Please refrain from any references to drinking, drugs, or other activities related to substance use.
