Hunger Action at DC Central Kitchen
The EDCJCC is excited to return to volunteering at DC Central Kitchen in their brand new facility!
DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is an iconic nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. DCCK’s social ventures include serving scratch-cooked farm-to-school meals in DC schools, delivering fresh, affordable produce to corner stores in neighborhoods without supermarkets, and operating a fast-casual cafe.
What: Join us for a morning of volunteering with our close partner organization, DC Central Kitchen. Volunteers will work in the professional kitchen to chop vegetables, sort fresh produce, mix salads, portion meals, and more!
Who: This program is open to volunteers ages 12 and older. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated against covid-19.
When: Sunday, July 9, from 8:45AM – 12:00PM.
Where: We will meet at the new DC Central Kitchen located in southwest DC. The address will be provided with registration.
Register: There is limited space for this program and registration is required for participation.
