Thank you for your interest in the EDCJCC Urban Garden Team! This volunteer opportunity is full for the season.

WHAT: Join the Edlavitch DCJCC for a third season of maintaining an urban garden for the youth at the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC)! Our garden brings fresh herbs and vegetables to youth at the LAYC Drop-in Center throughout the summer.

You do not have to have any gardening experience – just the desire to get your hands in the dirt and help grow some plants. Come down at the end of a long day to relax, unwind, get closer to Mother Nature, and make some friends.

Children of all ages are welcome but those under 14 must be supervised closely by an adult.

WHEN: Volunteer days will occur roughly every other Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM starting with Wednesday, April 26. After you register, we will send you a short orientation and you will receive a link to a monthly registration page you can use to sign up for one or both Wednesdays each month.

WHERE: The LAYC Drop-in Center is located in Columbia Heights. The exact address will be provided upon registration.

REGISTRATION: We request a one-time $10 registration fee to help us cover the costs of supplies and plants for the garden. Please click on the “TICKETS” button to proceed to registration.
