Live Virtual Kickoff Session on Zoom: Thursday, September 1 at 8:00 PM
Weekly Learning with Chevruta (which you and your partner will schedule together): September 5-16
In-Person Closing Session: Thursday, September 22 at 8:00 PM
(Registration closes: Monday, August 29)
What does it mean to raise a child as Jewish? What from your own parent(s) and family heritage are you trying to pass on to your kids? When should you prioritize yourself over your kids? How do you balance the multiple demands and values that are constantly tugging at Jewish parents?
Join the EDCJCC’s Director of Jewish Life, Amanda Herring, and Director of Children and Family Programming, Miriam Szubin, as we virtually kick off this four-part learning series that uses chevruta (paired learning) text-study as a mode to explore these questions of Jewish parenting. On September 1, we’ll learn together as a group on Zoom and then pair you with another parent to be your chevruta (learning partner). For the next two sessions, you’ll meet with your partner on your own schedule, and then we’ll gather IRL at the EDCJCC on Thursday, September 22 for a final learning session and to discuss resources and ideas for celebrating the fall holidays with your family.
Interfaith and multifaith families welcome! We define “Jewish parents” and “Jewish children” however you do!
