Join GLOE, Bet Mishpachach, Nice Jewish Boys and Nice Jewish Girls on Friday, June 11 for happy hour, Shabbat services, and a oneg where we will celebrate Pride. Bet Mishpachah’s Rabbi, Jake Singer-Beilin, will be co-leading along with Robyn Helzner, a wonderfully tallented musician and singer. This will be a wonderful night of coming together as a community to reflect and celebrate together!

Mishpacha Meet-Up: A Pre-Pride Parade LGBTQ Family Gathering

GLOE – The Kurlander Program for LGBTQ Outreach & Engagement at the Edlavitch DCJCC is proudly partnering with Adas Israel Congregation and PJ Library of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington to host a family-friendly gathering of the Jewish community – and our friends/allies – in the EDCJCC before marching as one at the Capital Pride Parade.Beat the heat and join us for a short Shabbat program featuring Jewish reflections in support of LGBTQ inclusion, and enjoy snacks and fun activities for kids in addition to making signs we’ll carry in the parade! Afterwards, we’ll head over to our meet-up spot to queue for the parade together.

Capital Pride Festival

Sunday, June 12, 12:00 PM || Pennsylvania Avenue
Join the Jewish LGBTQ+ community on America’s Mainstreet, historic Pennsylvania Avenue, for the return of the Capital Pride Festival. Visit our Jewish LGBTQ+ organization booth and enjoy a a full day of entertainment on three stages, food, drink, and advocacy with over 300 exhibitors. The Festival is the largest annual event in the national capital region and continues to be free to the public.

The 2022 Night OUT at the Nationals game is Tuesday, June 14, at 7:05 PM against the Atlanta Braves. Buy tickets now for seats in our block in the scoreboard pavilion to sit with others from local LGBTQ Jewish organizations.

Capital Pride Volunteer Project with Casa Ruby

Help us spread Pride cheer to the clients and staff of Casa Ruby, a homeless shelter serving LGBTQ and transgender youth. Drop off baked goods or thank you cards to be included in care packages or sign up for an in-person project to create these packages.

We will try to organize the group to mingle together on the 16th street steps before the movie.
Join GLOE & NJB at the movies for a showing of the 2021 Israeli film, The Swimmer. The film tells the story of an athlete trying to reconcile his sexual identity with dreams of becoming a world champion. This regional premiere is part of JxJ, the EDCJCC’s film and music festival.
