Facilities, Location, and Transportation

Our Jr. J Campers enjoy the fun-filled facility of the EDCJCC, including an indoor pool, art and kitchen classrooms, and community hall, plus nearby playgrounds and parks. The EDCJCC is conveniently located four blocks east of the Dupont Circle Metro – Q Street exit. Our curbside drop-off and pick-up make it easy for commuting parents.

Our JKids and Super J Campers will join with the campers at the Bender JCC to enjoy their outdoor facility in Rockville, complete with large outdoor pool, open fields and tented spaces.   Bus transportation between the EDCJCC to Bender will be available for an additional cost.

Staff and Safety

The safety and well-being of our campers are our top priorities. We maintain low camper-to-counselor ratios to ensure that our campers are well-supervised at all times. All staff members are certified in First Aid, and lead counselors are certified in CPR.

We will follow all state-mandated and CDC regulations pertaining to COVID in effect at the time of summer camp, including size of groups, social-distancing and mask regulations.    We will have all criteria in place to run a safe camp program that we have learned from operating our Preschool for in-person learning since September.

Inclusion Policy

The EDCJCC embraces inclusion in all its programs and activities. We welcome and encourage the participation of all people, regardless of their background, sexual orientation, abilities, or religion, including interfaith couples and families.

Health & Wellness

JCamps is dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of our campers, staff, and facility. Please do not send your child to camp with a fever or infection. Your child must be fever- and infection-free for 24 hours before returning to camp. If your child is sent to camp sick, they will not be permitted to stay and you will be called to pick them up. If your child should become ill at camp, they will be brought to the camp office, and the Camp Director or Assistant Director will call you. Your child will rest in the camp office until they are picked up.

Camper Forms

All camper forms can be accessed, filled out, and uploaded through our Camp-In-Touch portal on CampMinder. These forms are necessary to helping us to provide your child(ren) with the best care possible. The following forms are required for all campers:
• Health History and Profile
• Emergency Information and Pick Up Authorization
• Sunscreen Permission
• Authorization to Medicate (if necessary)

*You will receive an email when forms are ready to be completed.

Registration and Deposit

To reserve your spot for the 2021 Camp Season, please fill out the secure online registration application on CampMinder. New families may click here to register and returning families may click here to sign in. Registration includes a $100 non-refundable deposit for each camper, and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The balance of fees and all completed forms are due in the camp office by June 1, 2021.   Registrations made after June 1, 2021 must be paid in full at the time of registration. No child will be allowed to begin their camp experience without all fees being paid in full.

In order to secure an Early Bird Discount of 5%, all fees must be paid by the end of the Early Bird period, March 19.

If you prefer to pay by check, please contact Minerva Flores, camp registrar, at 202-777-3267 or by emailing MinervaF@edcjcc.org.

No refunds will be made for withdrawals after June 1, 2021. The EDCJCC reserves the right to request that a camper leave the camp because of violation of the camp regulations or because of personal conduct that interferes with the health or welfare of themselves or others. Should this occur, we will not offer refunds. No refunds or make-up dates will be available in the event of cancellation due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances outside of the EDCJCC’s control.

Cancellation Policy

The Edlavitch DCJCC reserves the right to cancel any camp program due to insufficient enrollment. Should this occur, we will make every effort to accommodate registered campers in other programs. If we cannot do so, we will offer a full refund.

If we are unable to run our in person camp due to COVID restrictions, all monies will be refunded, including any deposits.
