SUMMARY:Before Baby: A Series for Expecting Parents
DESCRIPTION:Expecting your first baby? Looking to create community with other expecting parents? This group will meet weekly in person at the EDCJCC (at 16th and Q) for four weeks to provide a safe space for parents-to-be to discuss their experiences and learn from one another. We will be joined each week by an expert in a relevant field\, including a perinatal mental health provider\, a doula\, and a lactation and feeding specialist\, who will help us understand the range of support options and services available. Of course\, we will leave plenty of time for Q&A\, discussion\, and schmoozing. \n\n\n\nThis session will be held on Wednesday evenings\, August 26-September 16\, 2026. \n\n\n\nThe first and fourth weeks are intended for expecting moms only. Dads and non-birthing parents are warmly welcomed to join us for Weeks 2 and 3\, and they will have the option to have their own separate session on Week 4 if desired. The group will be kept small so that connections can be fostered easily. \n\n\n\nAdvance registration is required. If you have any questions or if the cost of this program poses a barrier in any way\, please reach out to Miriam at mszubin@edcjcc.org.

\n\n\n\nThis session will be held on Tuesday evenings\, November 3-December 1\, 2026. (There will be no meeting on November 26.) \n\n\n\nThe first and fourth weeks are intended for expecting moms only.

SUMMARY:New Parent Coffee: Gentle Sleep Secrets for Newborns
DESCRIPTION:Join us for coffee\, the company of other new parents\, and a relaxed conversation about your baby’s sleep. Gentle sleep coach Jessica Dodson of Starlight Sleep Coaching will discuss how sleep develops during infancy\, why it can be so difficult and what you can do to make it easier for both you and your baby. Learn gentle steps you can take to help shape your child’s sleep from their earliest months and how to avoid common pitfalls that can lead to restless nights. Bring your babies and your questions – we’ll spend most of our time talking through participants’ specific situations. Expecting parents also warmly welcomed. \nNew Parent Coffees are open to any new parents or anyone expecting the arrival of a baby\, whether biological\, adoptive\, through a gestational carrier\, or any other pathway. LGBTQ and straight\, Jewish and non-Jewish – all are warmly welcomed! Kosher snacks will be served. \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to Miriam Szubin at mszubin@edcjcc.org.
