Family Shabbat in the Lot
Sep 24 @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Join us for Shabbat in the Lot of the EDCJCC.

To start the night we will have a lively 30-minute Shabbat song session which is geared toward children under six years old and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers. Together we sing, dance, and enjoy a story. (Free)

Following Shabbat songs stay for a picnic dinner. Enjoy celebrating shabbat and making new friends. We will have candles, grape juice and wine, challah, and dessert. Each family will need to bring blanket/chairs and their own dinner. We will also have Magician Drew Blue Shoes on site entertaining us all!  ! (FEE: $18.00 per family)

Registration is required to attend.

This program is brought to you by the Edlavitch DCJCC and funded by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and The United Jewish Endowment Fund.

Effective September 1, all visitors over the age of 12 entering the EDCJCC’s building are required to show proof of vaccination. Participants at outdoor events will not be checked for vaccination status, but it is our hope that regardless of where we gather, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community. Shabbat in the Lot: Silent Disco & 5 Senses

Registration deadline to participate in silent disco portion of the event is September 30

Join the EntryPointDC, our 20s and 30s program, for a fun fall Shabbat where we will explore ritual using all our senses and have a silent disco party!

We’d love to host you for Shabbat in the EDJCC parking lot, we’ll provide the space for gathering, the ambiance, the musical entertainment, plus challah, wine, and dessert. BYOD- Bring your own dinner.

Explore the ancient Shabbat rituals and practices through the lense of mindfulness and exploring our senses (or lack thereof) as we eat a Shabbat meal! Join Director of EntryPointDC, Stacy Miller to re-imagine how we eat Jewishly.

(FEE $18.00 per family)
